Ty is the Temporary Laboratory Manager of the Archaeometry Laboratory and will be filling in for April Oga starting January 2026. He received his undergraduate education at the University of Missouri, earning bachelor's degrees in Anthropology and Ancient Mediterranean Studies with minors in Spanish and Archaeology. Ty manages the shipping and receiving of projects and processes the sample data that is produced by the Laboratory. He is also in charge of training the Laboratory's undergraduate research assistants and overseeing the students' contribution to sample preparation and data collection. As an undergraduate, Ty analyzed terra sigillata from the University of Missouri's Museum of Art and Archaeology. As long as he remembers, he has been interested in both history and chemistry. As such, he has and continues to enjoy his time working in the archaeometry lab.
