Techniques

The Archaeometry Laboratory at MURR analyzes samples for an array of customers including academic research projects, cultural-resource management firms, non-profit educational and research groups, museums, and private individuals. We are one of only a handful of laboratories in the world that offer access to the four major analytical techniques used to characterize archaeological materials. These techniques each have their own advantages and disadvantages when dealing with specific matrices and archaeological problems.
